Jersey born and raised Latasha McRae always knew she would become an entrepreneur some day. In holding firm to this dream, in 2001 she started pursuing her Associate's in Science for Film and Video Production at Full Sail University. Shortly after obtaining her degree, in 2003 Latasha fell sick and faced a near death experience restricting her to a coma for 3 weeks. It took 2 years for her to fully recover and redevelop speech and physical capabilities again. Instead of letting any of this hinder her, Latasha used this as motivation. She was determined to make her dream a reality. Curiosity of not only what happened behind the scenes of movies but also what happened before the behind the scene actions took placed sparked Latasha's interest in the area of personality and makeup. She then enrolled at University of Phoenix to continue her education, where her Bachelor of Science in Business Management was obtained in 2007.

With the belief that everyone should look and feel beautiful, not limiting their selves to one personality, Latasha McRae founded Peeks Cosmetics. To Latasha, "Peeks" meant taking someone to a higher level, making them feel as beautiful on the outside as they are on the inside.
